Fine Art Collections
The collection of paintings of the Golden Court Museum brings together works from the European schools dating from the start of the Cinquecento to the last days of the 19th century. Portrait art is particularly well represented.
Pride of place is reserved for artists who have their roots in Metz or Moselle for whom the Museum has established benchmark collections. With the works of Delacroix, Corot or Sargent, the Metz School confirmed its regional artistic identity in the 19th century.
With 200 works by 76 artists from the second half of the 20th century, the modern art collection showcases abstract art from the New Paris School.
